Northwest Yeshiva High School (NYHS) elections on June 8th reveal the new elected positions for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year.
The Agenda Committee consists of junior Albert Menashe as Chair; sophomore Ori Amiel as Vice-Chair; and junior Al Benoliel as Secretary.
Student Activities includes junior Fay Koyfman as Chair; sophomore Jojo Gladstein as Treasurer; sophomore Ethan Aronowitz as Secretary; and freshman Naomi Klinghoffer, sophomore Regie Mezistrano, and juniors Isak Moon and Brielle Bush as their respective class representatives.
In previous years at NYHS there was one Student Council committee for students to run for and they were tasked with both policy changes and activities planning. This year is the first that students have the option of running for one of two separate committees.
The election handbook explains that students in Agenda Committee will help in preparing Town Halls and implementing policy changes as a result of them, as well as helping the Just Community grow and progress.
The Student Activities students will be spending the year planning events for the NYHS community and helping improve student spirit and moral.
With these new positions solidified, the NYHS community looks forward to seeing what these students will accomplish next year.
